Doctrinal Foundation

The Holy Bible: We believe that the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. It is the foundation of our faith and the final authority for all matters of Christian belief and practice. We believe that the Scriptures are not merely a collection of human writings, but the very Word of God, breathed out by Him and, therefore, without error in the original manuscripts. The Bible is unique in its divine origin, authority, clarity, and sufficiency. It is the supreme standard by which all other teachings and traditions are to be judged. Therefore, the Bible guides our preaching, teaching, worship, and daily living.

The 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith: The Elders at Lux Fellowship affirm the 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith, which is a historic statement of the Christian faith, adopted by Particular Baptists in England. It provides a comprehensive summary of biblical doctrine and articulates our beliefs about God, the Bible, salvation, the church, and the Christian life. It is a detailed and systematic exposition of the major doctrines of the Bible, providing a rich theological heritage.

The Baptist Faith and Message: The Baptist Faith and Message is a statement of faith adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention. It serves as a concise summary of basic Christian beliefs, particularly as understood by Baptists. While affirming the core doctrines of the 1689 Baptist Confession, the Baptist Faith and Message offers a contemporary expression of these truths. Our church finds the Baptist Faith and Message to be a helpful summary of Christian doctrine.
